What is DirectAdmin Control Panel?

DirectAdmin is a lightweight, but very powerful web-based web hosting control panel which allows administration of websites through your web browser. It offers same functionalities as other similar panels, such as cPanel and Plesk.

The main difference is that you control both your site and your users’ sites within the same panel (more on that in sections below).

DirectAdmin combines the power of WHM and cPanel into one!

With cPanel and WHM, you always had to have 2 separate panels, depending on whether you wanted to modify your own website, or whether you wanted to edit your clients’ information as well as upgrade a certain plugin on their websites.

DirectAdmin allows you to switch between 3 main areas (User, Reseller and Admin) with a simple click of a button.

User Level

Control panels are mostly used so that a non-technical user can do the things they need done to administer their website, quickly and easily. DirectAdmin covers all the bases, with user features such as:

FTP
File manager
Email accounts & forwarders
Databases
Backups
SSL certificates

...and anything else a single user might need to develop their website.

Administrator Level

Administrators are at the top of the DirectAdmin hierarchy. They’re able to manage resellers, all the users and, most importantly, general server configuration. Administrators can:

Create and manage Resellers
Create and manage Reseller Packages
Create and edit DNS records
Set IP adresses for both the server and reseller accounts
Switch to reseller level to see each reseller’s users

...and much more!

Reseller Level

Resellers can manage user accounts thanks to added capabilities, giving them more rights than regular users, but not as much as full administrators. Resellers can manage:

Other users’ accounts
IP addresses
User packages
Check their users’ stats
Switch to reseller level to see each reseller’s users

...and many other things they might need to address their users.
